DreamHost’s Amazon CloudFront Interface: Now Free

I have recently set-up a few clients on DreamHost in response to WestHost’s restructuring. Today comes the news that they will be offering their interface to Amazon’s Content Delivery Network (CDN) for free – it was previously $3.95/month extra.

There are many other ways to take advantage of Amazon’s cloud services such as a plugins for FireFox or WordPress. These plugins allow your static files (e.g. photos) to be served from Amazon’s international delivery network from a point nearer to the user resulting in faster page loading and reduced impact on your server.

I always enjoy learning how other people employ Amazon S3 and CloudFront. You can check out my very own tool CloudBerry Explorer that helps to manage S3 and CloudFront. It is a freeware. http://cloudberrylab.com/
