One-to-One Classes
Recently a number of clients have asked to learn more about how to update their websites themselves. I’m happy to do this and now have a simple way to offer this service to both PC and Mac users.
Over the years I’ve used a number of remote control programs such as pcAnywhere. Its a great program, but for giving classes it has a few problems: it has to be installed and configured, it has no voice chat and it costs real money.
Screen sharing with Skype
Now I have the answer, Skype. In 2009 Skype introduced a feature called screen sharing. It lets you share your Windows (XP and above) or Mac screen during a Skype call. There’s no remote control but you can talk and send text messages. Its great for giving one-to-one classes and its free.
