One-to-One Classes
Recently a number of clients have asked to learn more about how to update their websites. I point them to articles on this site and others and suggest videos that they can watch but they tell me they want me to show them and talk them through it.
Over the years I’ve used a number of remote control programs such as pcAnywhere. Its a great program, but for giving classes it has a few problems: it has to be installed and configured, it has no voice chat and it costs real money.
Screen sharing with Skype
Now I have the answer, Skype. In 2009 Skype introduced a feature called screen sharing. It lets you share your Windows (XP and above) or Mac screen during a Skype call. There’s no remote control but you can talk and send text messages. Its great for giving one-to-one classes and its free.
